David Parker joined BCB in 2003. He initially started filling in as we auditioned various drummers. He was very vocal about not having time for an additional project and that he just enjoyed filling in, while we searched high and low. I think he found this to be the musical outlet he needed, as he never mentioned when the "filling in" would stop and we just stopped auditioning. We forgot to ask him to officially join the band, but he has played well over 300 gigs with us, so we are pretty sure he is our drummer. David has a strong tenor voice and adds the perfect harmonies. He is also conscience of the band, usually keeping us sober and on the straight and narrow as best he can. David is a jovial guy and usually offers much amusement.
David is an incredibly talented musician being proficient to excellent on just about any instrument, including his voice. This makes it fun to occasionally switch instruments for a song, give that all of us are multi-instrumental. With that said, drums and percussion are his forte'. He can play anything in any style and has been a welcome addition to the group. He also invented the "sock-shaker", which has received some interesting looks when we mic his ankle at an unplugged show.
