In 2005, BCB significantly increased their level of private performances, cut back on nightclub performances, and added percussionist Alphonse. BCB met Alphonse, A.K.A Michael Meredith, at a local TV station doing a show together. They were immediately taken by his style, professionalism, and smile. Alphonse has a permanent smile on his face when he plays... He can't stop. But isn't that what it is all about? When the stages are higher and the budgets are a little fatter, we love bringing Alphonse along for the party. One of our favorite things is watching Dave and Alphonse trade licks. Alphonse always knows the right touch for the right moment and we have never heard one beat out of time. He adds the polish that we wish we could bring to every gig. Alphonse is also the patriarch of the band. Alphonse can also be seen adorning other Napa band's stages (sometimes on the same stage on the same day). Our goal in life is to have Alphonse quit the day job.
